About the Associated Students Organization
The Associated Students Organization (ASO) at Southwest is the governing body representing students. ASO also sponsors social activities and events, and supports its members throughout the year.
Membership in the ASO is not mandatory. However, student activities are financed by money received from student membership in ASO. Activities are in accordance with policies, rules, and regulations defined by the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles Community College District.
Are you a leader? Apply to be part of the next ASO board. Deadline: Friday, April 4
Student Representation Fee
In the 2011-12 semester, Southwest students voted to pay one dollar ($1.00) per semester (Education Code section 76060.5) to raise funds towards operations. These funds are used to sponsor events and support campus activities geared toward students.
ASO membership cards are $7.00 per semester, and $3.00 for summer session students. In case of withdrawal from the college, students will receive a refund.
