About Us
The workforce and economic development landscape of Southern California has changed dramatically in Los Angeles Southwest College’s forty-year history. There is widespread agreement that advances in technology and the impact of a global economy have contributed to changes in the structure of 21st Century work being experienced by employers and employees. Today, as employers seek to upgrade employees’ skills, in an attempt to remain economically competitive, and entrants seek to find a road to rewarding careers, Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC) finds itself needing to rethink its career and technical education programs and services.
To address this imperative, the College announced new strategic focus for career and technicaleducation (CTE) at LASC with the hiring of a new Dean of Workforce Development and Corporate Relations and over the next 5 years (FY 2008 – 2012) the Office of Workforce Development and Corporate Relations will pursue the mission statement.
