Crisis Emergency Management
CRISIS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROCESS
Mobilization of the Crisis Action Team
Management during the earliest phases of an emergency is most critical to work to safely secure the campus and its occupants. The Crisis Action Team (CAT) must ensure an early exchange of information and complete initial decision-making prior to activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The Los Angeles Southwest College Crisis Action Team includes senior Administrators from the President’s Office, Vice President, Administrative Services, College Sheriff’s Department, and Director, College Facilities (DCF) and Public Information Officer (PIO) who will confer to make recommendations to the President on immediate actions and possible EOC activation. The C.A.T. will evaluate the current state of the campus and make a short term response plan that will be ready to put into place immediately. A manageable crisis may be monitored from the President’s conference room as soon as the response plan is completed and assignments are given out.
If the crisis involves a large portion or all of the campus the C.A.T. will then take this plan to the EOC for presentation to those in the process of setting for activation.
