The mission of the English Writing Center (EWC) is to help Southwest students become effective, confident writers.
We want you to love writing as much as we do!
English 21 and English 28 Lab Requirement
The EWC is where English 21 and English 28 students complete the required lab component of these classes. We have tutors on site to help you complete the online lab assignments to the best of your ability. The lab assignments are designed to follow what you are learning in class and allow you to get extra practice, information, and assistance. Make sure you attend the lab every week to receive full credit.

Tutoring Services
The Center now offers other support services to help all Southwest students succeed in writing.
We offer:
- One-on-one and group tutoring
- Weekly workshops on topics English students tend to ask for help with
- Supplemental instruction sessions
