Learning Assistance Success Center
The Learning Assistance Department comprises the following entities: Developmental Communications discipline, The Learning Assistance Success Center, Athletes as Scholars Program, The Center for Academic and Workforce Excellence, The VESL Café, The Writing Success Center, and the Mathematics Success Center.
Mission:
To increase student retention and academic functioning levels by offering a seamless, comprehensive strategy for student success that encompasses basic foundational skills upgrades.
Goals:

To increase student retention college-wide by decreasing skills deficiencies a learning barrier.

To increase students’ ability to succeed in classes attempted by assisting them in acquiring foundational skills necessary for student success.

To assist students in acquiring an academic functioning level that is commensurate with college level students.

To help students develop study skills, time management skills, and note taking skills as part of their college success plan.
The Learning Assistance Success Center offers multiple programs to assist students reach their academic goals. These programs include:

CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam) Program is also a component of the Learning Assistance Success Center.
