About The Library

The Los Angeles Southwest College Library is located on the first and second floors of the Cox Building on the north side of campus. Facilities include four high speed copiers, study carrels, audio-visual equipment, Internet computers, a periodicals reading room, and several group study areas.

 

The Los Angeles Southwest College Library contains a collection of over 60,000 books, 250 magazine and journal titles, newspapers, electronic books, reserve books, videos, microfilm, dvd’s and cd-roms. The on-line computerized library catalog is accessible both on and off campus via the Internet. Library research may now be done at home using one of the many remote access electronic databases.

Library Card

Your Los Angeles Southwest College student I.D. card with the current semester sticker is also your library card. Only currently enrolled students with their I.D. or LASC staff/faculty may check out materials from the library.

 

Reserve Books

Some instructors may put a copy of their current textbook on reserve in the library. Only one reserve item at a time may be checked out for in-library use. Reserve books may be checked out for 2 hours only for in-library use.
