Music Appreciation: Music 111
June 7 to June 15, 2013
Participate in this week-long exploration of the world of music through this special program and earn college credit (3 credits) towards your degree. This Music Appreciation course is an introduction to American, World, and Western Classical music that will be conducted during the 2013 summer session in Seville, Spain. This course will visit cultural sites in and around the ancient city of Seville, Cordoba, & Granada. You will experience vibrant nightlife, music, African and Roman castles, mosques, churches, and much more.

Anthropology 102: Human Ways of Life
June 7 to June 15, 2013
(with pre- and post-travel assignments online through Etudes)
This 3-unit course is an introduction to the field of sociocultural anthropology and examines the diversity of human life around the world. Topics covered include the "culture" concept and ethnography; language, family, gender, and religion; social stratification and inequality; economic and political systems; cultural change and contemporary globalization.
This course will visit natural and cultural sites throughout Costa Rica, including Arenal, Monteverde, and the Santa Elena cloud forest. Students will experience a volcano, waterfalls, hot springs, and a coffee plantation , as well as plant a tree and participate in a tree canopy adventure.
